Fits in every studio
In the heart of Bollywood
Award-winning engineer Shadab Rayeen, who is very much known for his mixes with renowned Bollywood Music composers such as Pritam, Amit Trivedi and others has finished constructing his dream studio in the heart of Bollywood – Andheri West, Mumbai, India.
A project that first started as the idea to accomplish from stereo to 5.1 has ended in a new Dolby Atmos music 7.1.4 mixing room. It's India's first Dolby Atmos Music studio and the first Dolby Atmos Music installation in the world that is exclusively equipped with EVE Audio studio monitors.
Mr. Aditya Modi, director from our Indian distributor Modi Digital was leading this project that took two years to complete. "We had our challenges", he remembers, "because the entire mixing studio is in a residential complex. We had to be mindful about the neighborhood. And we had to deal with extreme road traffic noise, noise from ongoing construction work and a newly opened cricket ground nearby. 87dB and beyond are easily achieved on any normal day."
Immersive surround speaker system
A typical Dolby Atmos Music Mix room is a 7.1.4 system containing 7 speakers at ear level all around at specific degrees, Shadab's New Edge studio has now 3 working studios. One of them is a stereo mixing room in which a pair of EVE Audio SC305 has been installed. But with no doubt is the star-attraction the specialized Dolby Atmos music room in which three SC305 and eight SC207 have found their new home as an immersive surround speaker system. Next to the sound system other attractions are for instance the motorized sit-stand desk to work comfortably for long hours and an outboard gear rack that is impressively is filled with compressors, EQ's, reverb units etc. that Shadab all uses regularly depending on the music.
"Shadab was the very first person in India to get EVE's for his studio several years back, and has remained a steadfast fan of them. We have together created the most magical space for him, which reflects his positivity and happy attitude towards life. The room sounded fantastic to begin with, and Dolby India has done a phenomenal job further calibrating it", recalls Aditya Modi, Modi Digital's Director.
