At EVE Audio, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional acoustic environments, including our very own reverberation chamber.
Why it is important to have
This room serves as the counterpart to our anechoic chamber, offering a space specifically designed to maximize acoustic reflections. It allows for sound power measurements to be conducted independently of the studio monitor's directivity characteristics. In addition to the on-axis frequency response measured in the anechoic chamber, the power frequency response measured in the reverberation room helps us to develop a speaker tuning that meets the requirements of different rooms.
About the room
The architecture of our reverberation chamber as a room-within-a-room construction is carefully crafted to reflect acoustic signals for as long as possible. This allows us to create an environment where sound waves can persist, making it ideal for various acoustic measurements and research. The decoupled construction is placed in a basement behind two thick, acoustically sealed metal doors leaving no chance for outside noise to influence the precise measurements.
One of the most impressive features of our reverberation room is its ability to achieve a reverberation time of up to 16 seconds. To maximize the reverberation time there is only one 90° corner, no parallel walls and many wooden panels hanging from the ceiling of this room. This extended reverberation time is essential for in-depth analysis and precise acoustic testing.
Our room measures about 6.5x8x5 m (21x26x15 ft) providing lots of space to conduct thorough and accurate acoustic experiments.
The complete opposite but just as important: Our anechoic chamber is a vital part in our speaker development.
