Great sound for small spaces
From audio post-production to full-service provider
Shoot’n’Post began over 20 years ago as Tonbüro, an audio post-production specialist for cinema and TV. Over time, the company expanded its expertise into a full-service sound and image post-production studio, building a global network of talent, production partners, and clients.
The company’s diverse, award-winning, and critically acclaimed portfolio spans feature films, documentaries, series, commercials, and animation, with a client roster that includes Warner, Sony, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and many more.
Shoot’n’Post's facility is equipped with three editing rooms, two picture correction rooms, an ADR stage, a foley stage, a home entertainment stage, and a Dolby Atmos-certified, 170 sqm cinema studio.
The CEO and founder, Christian Riegel, graduated from Konrad Wolf Film University of Babelsberg in 2003 with a Bachelor’s in sound engineering. He, along with a few fellow graduates, founded Tonbüro in Adlershof, Berlin. Today, he serves as president of the company, principal sound engineer, and a member of the German Film Academy.
Located next door to the EVE Audio facilities, Shoot’n’Post has the unique opportunity to test various models in different setups and compare them against a range of other options. This collaboration led to the creation of an immersive 7.1.4 setup, featuring seven SC208 and four SC207 monitors, used for home cinema mixes and dubbing projects. Additionally, the SC204 and SC205 monitors are utilized across several of their studios.
The absence of colorisation
For Christian, it's the absence of coloration in the sound that defines a great studio environment. “Everything has to be neutral, as the customer expects it,” he says. “I want an honest studio that shows you the signal as it is.”
This philosophy is why the 7.1.4 home-cinema studio was designed to mimic a typical quiet living room. “The effect of having the customer say ‘Wow, that’s cool’ can backfire a week later when they’re listening to it somewhere else,” Christian explains. He knows that a good production has to sound great everywhere, and he doesn’t want to worry about how his speakers might alter the signal—only that they present it exactly as it is.
In several of his studios, he has chosen to trust EVE Audio monitors: the SC204, SC205, SC207, and SC208. “They are honest,” he explains. “You can really rely on the sound.”
“You can listen to them for hours without getting tired. You’re there, they’re there, and they do nothing but present the sound as it is.”
